Merlin MRP College
Warehouse Management

Need some help?  That is what we are here for!

In this class we deal with the Merlin MRP Factory 9
Warehouse Management & Stock Locations.

Stock Locations Management

Click the Manufacturing Resources tab on the Home Screen
then select the Resource Record Card  from the List.  Now click the Manage Locations button in the Warehouse Management panel, without clicking to EDIT this record first.  If it is already in EDIT mode, click the SAVE or REVERT button.

You will then see the Manage Warehouse Locations screen.

Click the NEW RECORD button and you will see the screen below.

The Primary Location Sequence for any Stock Item should be zero (0).  If you add Additional Locations for the item you should sequence them 1, 2, 3 and so on.  The reason for this is that when Merlin issues materials to Jobs, it will take them from the Primary Location first.  If this is insufficient, it will work its way down the list of locations in sequential order to satisfy the Issue demand.

You need enter only a Reference ID for the Location itself, Notes, as always, being discretionary.  If you are starting out afresh, a logical system would be to use Aisle Number followed by Bay No., e.g. "A15B26".  If you have more than one Warehouse, you could prefix this with the Warehouse No., e.g."1A15B26".  Nice and easy to understand when you view it.

Click SAVE when you are done, then click the Locations for this Item tab.

You will now see the results of your handiwork in the List.  Click the Primary Location line.

You will again see the screen below.  Click the SAVE button, followed by EXIT FORM.

You will then be taken back to the Resource Record Card, with the Primary Location populated for this item.

And finally in this Tutorial, Transferring Stock items  with Multiple Warehouse Locations from one to another.

You will from time to time need to move Stock with Multiple Locations from one location to another.  To do this, click the Manage Locations button on the Resource Record Card, click the TRANSFER STOCK... button, and you will see the screen above.
In the From: column, click the Location from which you wish to Transfer stock, and in the To: column click the Location to which you wish to transfer it.  In the Qty. to Move field you will be prompted with the total quantity in the From location.  If you are not moving it all, type in the Quantity you wish to transfer.  Check it is correct, then click the Transfer Button.  Or EXIT to cancel the action.  Clicking EXIT FORM will take you back to the Resource Record Card.
